Zeckett – olemisesta ja odottamisesta oli esitystaiteellinen tutkimusprojekti, joka tutki todellisuuden tiheintä osaa: nyt-hetkeä. Se oli estetiikaltaan hyvin minimalistinen ja keskittyi tähän hetkeen, liikkeen ja olemuksen pelkkyyteen, jakamattomana tekemiseen, hiljaisuuteen, tyyneen odottamiseen ja sanattomaan ilmaisuun. Esitys oli eräänlainen sisarteos Samuel Beckettin näytelmälle Huomenna hän tulee, jossa kaksi kulkuria tuskailee olemassaolon ja ajan kanssa. Tässä esityksessä tätä länsimaisen ihmisen perusproblematiikkaa lähestyttiin zen-filosofian näkökulmasta. Esitys tapahtui Espan lavalle rakennetussa kivipuutarhassa.

Zeckett – of being and waiting

Zeckett – being and waiting was a physical, psychological, spatial and aesthetical research project into the thickest part of the reality: the present moment (now). The performance was staged into a Japanese stone garden (karesansui). It was a kind of zen-like update of Samuel Beckett’s Waiting for Godot, where two poor fellows are waiting by the road side, troubled by the passing of time. In this performance time was not understood as an enemy, but as a blessing. Time flows and we must flow. That is the way of zen and all others who see the treasures of the present moment.
What sets this performance apart from others is the silence – true calmness of the spirit, of which I have never encountered before.
